Why can’t The Human Santapede Ugly Christmas Shirt they use ships that dock around our coast line, instead of lorries driving the length and breath of the country up from Dover, not using so much carbon footsteps as well. Think of the environment. Well perhaps it is time to acknowledge we have too much waste from overindulging at the seasonal celebrations. So shop for less and make sure all the leftovers are used up. Vegies left overs make amazing soup, yummie with toasted bread! Cold meat can be turned into anything, curries pies, cold with salads, time to get inventive! I bet you loads of people still have pigs in blankets in the freezer from last year when it was cancelled entirely after everyone had bought enough food for a small army. There are worse things happening in the world right now than worrying about Christmas and being able to buy a turkey etc .remember people went through the war years and still managed to do some sort of Christmas. So does it really matter if we have to for go dinner gifts etc family is more important than all the materials things. Oh who gives a s**t, so long as we’re healthy, alive and able to see our families! Think we’ve all learnt how to do without and learn about the important things in life by now. Don’t care if we have pie & chips on Christmas day, our loved ones are the important thing. Christmas wasn’t cancelled! Current circumstances mean we have to alter our perceptions, expectations and behaviours. Might even make us focus on the reasons we have Christmas and the spirit behind it!! Christmas is about family if we have to eat beans on toast and we all play cards or get the old board games out if the last 18 months haven’t taught us anything then god help us. Funny we went to a big supermarket on Saturday that rhymes with bestco and they had empty shelves pulled shutters staff desperately trying to rearrange stock to hide gaps ….. same day went to a local grocery shop thats just a small super market ….. full ranges in everything fresh fruit fresh veg meat bread everything we wanted and it was cheaper than what we would normally spend in the big super markets …… Support local cos they’re buying local and I know who I’ll be ordering my turkey from this year. So I will buy an extra pack of mince pies, tube of quality streets and hope for the best. Christmas is about spending time with loved ones, not panic buyi g pigs in blankets. Sorry did I miss something? Christmas happened last year the only thing missing was those family members we could not see due to the restrictions. If anything we pushed the boat out a bit more to try and enjoy the celebrations at the end of a tough year! Ugh. I hate the idea that Christmas was “cancelled” last year. It wasn’t cancelled, we just had to celebrate a little differently than what we are used to. Also isn’t Christmas more than the gifts??? At least that’s the plot of pretty much every single Christmas movie. Christmas was not cancelled! Fhs! Just different! Please remember, people who went through the war years snd the all the years following. Had Christmas’ just the same! Do people good to learn to compromise! I remember the great sprout shortage of 2005. Hundreds of people died in the stampedes amid a flurry of inedible stalks and small green leaves, as the tattered remnants of the tiny brassicas disappeared from the shelves.
