when I first heard that they were sending troops into Afghanistan I just wonderd whether history would repeat its self,Britain’s past history in the region was a good indicator of what can happen,the soviet unions invasion didn’t go well either,and I’m afraid the recent invasion has been just as big of a waste of firstly lives and lots of them,the cost in money and materiel well I think thats the thing that finally drives governments to pull out of these places,these wars become unpopular at home too a fact the insurgents know only to well,all they have to do is hang on and hang on they do,secondly when you get involved in wars like this you will see a rise in nut cases back home committing revenge terror attacks,wars of diminishing returns the more you put in it seems the less you get back. Good question.. 15,000 soldiers from countries ex-ussr have died in Afghanistan. Their parents I believe asking the same.. what for.. Nothing worth sacrifice, specially the so called home where the idiots and the poor die, the rich and the powerful celebrate and always win. Every soldier is a loser; they lose their lives, parts, time with their beloved ones and even their rest for nothing. BBC
