Yea, and I can’t have I Have A Bit Of A Drinking Problem Shirt my husband with me on the maternity ward for most of my labour or afterwards. After obeying the rules and working 12 hours shifts throughout this mess as a community pharmacist it feels great seeing this knowing what I’m about to have to do on my own. Everyone’s dying to have a good time – I get it, me too, but there are some things in life that are more important than the right to go clubbing. I am sick of hearing how many young people have missed out on in the last 18 months being locked up now they are so pleased to be free!!! We are all in the same boat. For some it has been their last 18 months and have no future ahead of them. Do we not count have we not missed out on things in life also or do we not matter. The last 16 months has taught me that Britain’s order of priorities is pubs, going to night clubs and going on holiday. Protecting the elderly, sparing the NHS/ other frontline workers and the education of children come far down the list. To think that soldiers have died to protect this (now) very selfish nation. How many of these people were socially distancing before today? How many of these people said they were “exempt” from having to wear a mask? How many of these will get Covid and carry on as normal? We will wait and see. Meanwhile my child’s having to self isolate from school, more precious memories missed out on, unable to see their grandpa (19 months and counting) or cousins as we’re being responsible and will not take an unvaccinated child from an area where hospitals are rapidly filling up with new cases to spread the delta variant somewhere else. All my child wants is a vaccination, but hey, let’s continue denying it to children while others refuse to get the vaccine and go out spreading it uncontrollably in nightclubs. Give it a few weeks and the NHS hospitals will be struggling even more and it’ll be once again hospital staff that’s suffering and exhausted that are having to sort this stupidity out power. BBC.

If this younger generation is the future then God help us! They have lost a year of their social lives whereas 129,000 and counting have lost their lives permanently. A lot of people have made sacrifices and suffered as a result of this pandemic and I suspect that there is more suffering to come as cases are increasing and some people are acting as if it is over when it’s not. The fact that large sporting events have been allowed to go ahead can’t have helped the situation either. It’s the NHS staff on the frontline, it’s the cancer patients who can’t get treatment, it’s the people who have lost their livelihoods that I feel sorry for. Is this the ONLY way these young people enjoy themselves nowadays? Thank goodness my kids (in their twenties) have been raised to enjoy the great outdoors, beach BBQs, hiking and the like. If you see me wearing a mask in public and in shops and school I want you to know that. I’m educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus. No, I don’t “live in fear” of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem. I don’t feel like the “government controls me”. I feel like I’m an adult contributing to security in our society and I want to teach others the same. If we could all live with the consideration of others in mind, the whole world would be a much better place. Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid or even “controlled”. It makes me caring. When you think about your appearance, discomfort, or other people’s opinion of you, imagine a loved one – a child, father, mother, grandparent, aunt, uncle or even a stranger – placed on a ventilator, alone without you or any family member who is allowed at his bedside. Ask yourself if you could have helped them a little while wearing a mask. Copied and posted. Will you do the same?
