Why not sedate him and take him somewhere away … just a thought… he was hiding in the bushes, probably a babe itself, probably also scared. She done the right thing protecting her child ! But to go out and hunt for it was a bit much ! Especially not knowing for sure it was that one that attacked !With all the wildlife being stripped away by development , wildlife are bound to come into contact with humans. The title of this article was very poorly phrased. You may wish to rethink it. A mother will defend her Cubs to the death. However, we have encroached upon the habitat of the wild and they also want to feed and raise their young. The cougar shouldn’t have been shot, merely relocated. Very sad indeed. While ever we encroach into their habitat this will continue to happen… Don’t blame the animal… Blame the human race…Omg, this woman fought off a mountain lion! I couldn’t care less at the time what the circumstances were of the mountain lion. It’s awful that their habitat is being destroyed, I agree, BUT I’m not going to stand there and think of what this poor thing has been through while it’s trying to devour my child! I’m going to go after it and save my son. Some of these comments are laughable, smh. Geez. Makes me think of the ethical issues brought up in Jurassic World… yes, she should save her son. But here too is a mountain lion trying survive after humans have taken away its habitat…one thing always leads to another. Its sad that the child was attacked.
