What the hell is a 13 year old doing out at 2:30am with a gun, running from police anyway!? It’s tragic but if he was at home in bed sleeping, as he should be on a school night, he wouldn’t be dead. If the media term this person as a child , then what was he doing out at that time ? The parents are ultimately at fault . A person was chased into a dark alley after taking pot shots at police cars . The person had a gun , the officer didn’t know the suspects age , in a split second the officer had to make a decision, the officer also has family or children to go home to . This suspect is not a innocent child but a armed criminal with shooting the police in mind . The suspect put himself into that situation . The officer was the last person in a chain of bad decisions , another criminal dies . The police are there to protect and serve . Protect the innocent and serve the public . How many officers have lost their lives because they hesitated . Its sad a young person has lost their life but if he had escaped and would have killed someone , the police would be at fault. Everybody is mad at the police officer but for him is split second decision or HIS kids will had at home folded flag in triangle…ps: 2pm 13 old boy with gun is not your typical Tommy who helping grandma and every Wednesday having chess club. so did I get this right? He dropped something that “appears to be a gun” while running from the police, then holds up his empty hands to show them to the police and THEN gets shot? What threat did he cause in that moment? He showed his HANDS and you can clearly see that the boy is not a threat or is no longer a threat. Rules of Engagement you can only fire aimed rounds if your life or your colleagues life is in immediate danger, So you are preserving life, in this case it’s clear to see he’s no longer a threat and is unarmed and has been murdered by the Police.
