Great technological achievement! Space technologies often have Astronaut Skull Of The Dead T-shirt spin off applications in other fields. For instance, the Moxie device could be used in medical applications as well as in carbon dioxide capture and decomposition to reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. It is essential to develop both earth and space solutions. Fully in agreement with Elon Musk that the survivability of human race requires space exploration and settlement. Cheers to you all, Bonkers. I’m so sick and tired of reading the same comments every time something interesting is done in space. I’m talking about the peanut gallery of stupidity that disparages any achievement or milestone that doesn’t address hunger or global freezing or cow farts. As long as there is one hungry person, NASA is a waste of money. By that logic, opera, tennis, motion pictures and chocolate cake are also unnecessary wastes of money. NEWSFLASH ….human beings have other aspirations beyond basic survival. Doesnt alter the position that going to mars is a near certain death sentence for a human. I really doubt man will ever get there despite all the hype from certain quarters . Robots ..no problem we should leave it at that. 60 minutes operation time buys 10 minutes of air, still has a bit to go to be effecient I think. But cool to see the theory work for sure, though I wonder if it was scaled up how a more carbon monoxide atmosphere would behave, would it be more susceptible to solar winds and blow off? Or diffuse off faster? Or will it change the planets temperature? Long term and but scale for sure but given the idea is to try long term eventually I think important to make theories now to monitor the changes. If humans want to live on Mars then they will have to manage all of their resources in harmony with their environment. Perhaps we should wait until we can do that on earth before trying on Mars? Especially since the rockets required to get off the Earth release such vast quantities of Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere. The technological developments are of limited practical use and seem quite trivial considering the damage that is being inflicted of the Earth to get them. BBC.

So we travel millions of miles to get to mars and then spend our lives living inside bubbles to survive… we’ve already been doing that on earth and it’s been crap.. and there won’t even be Netflix to watch…Ancient Facebook: “Why art thee spending thousands of Goats, on this stupid ‘Wheel Project??? Goats that could be sold to help people carry things from place to place. More Clogs! Corn Plasters! Better Rum to help with Amputations from Gangreen. Where will a wheel ever take us? For Gods sake, help the poor!”. I’m selling real-estate in Antarctica. Absolutely inhospitable. Life will be a constant struggle. Lonely, boring, dangerous, monotonous, tiring….. but not anywhere near as bad as living on Mars. So far I haven’t sold a single plot, despite, unlike Mars, it having atmosphere, air, and water. If any of you REALLY think that ‘colonising’ Mars is the future of mankind, try living in Antarctica first, see how you cope.
