They don’t see every single item before a seller posts it. The issue was brought to their attention and the item was removed and the seller was banned for violating their terms. Seems like they took the appropriate action. It’s more important to report and boycott the individual seller/business than the platform. Please don’t boycott etsy because of one bad apple….there are plenty of good people on there actually trying to make a living..some have lost their jobs because of the pandemic and this is a new way to make some money. Some times it might not be much but it could be making a difference in their families lives. Sadly etsy is a selling platform, sellers can post whatever they want….. the sellers should be ashamed and arrested for hate crimes. How the hell did it even get approved, anyone that thinks that this is acceptable, is really not right in the head. I don’t get the hate directed at Etsy. Direct it at the seller not the platform. They removed and banned the seller as soon as it was brought to their attention. That’s the kind of response we want. Etsy can’t police every item from every seller, that’s not possible. To give an example. A fle market is organized and set up on a main street one Sunday. One of the stalls appears to be selling these shirts along with other non antisemitic shirts. Do you get angry at the market organizers or the store holder. The fact that they don’t have measures in place to prevent that stuff from being sold on their platform is disappointing. BBC.
